The Bombing of Hiroshima Hiroshima, Japan (1945), a city of industrial wealth and military significance, was destroyed by the first nuclear bomb on August 6, 1945. Hiroshima was a city that was mainly untouched by the American nightly bombings. A community that carried about as if the war was elsewhere became the center of attention as a mushroom cloud rose above the city on that unforgettable morning.As an American, I am unsure of my thoughts concerning this matter, but as a human being, the destruction and devastation that the atomic bomb, Little Boy, caused would have been just as devastating on my soul as it was for the individuals who were there if I was able to view it as a â€Å"fly on the wall. † Through the power of the internet and books, I am able to travel back in time and do just that.Curiosity, intrigue, and a thirst to acquire knowledge are the reasons that I have chose the bombing of Hiroshima as an event I would like to have witnessed. I believe that would hav e been a horrific sight, to see buildings collapse, flesh fall from the bones of people, and the aftershocks of the most eventful day in the history of the world. I would like to have seen the destruction first-hand of what a bomb that size could destroy.Although my heart goes out to the individuals of Japan, their emperor, Hirohito, had the opportunity to have stopped the bombing all together; it was his decision to carry on with the war after President Truman had sent The Potsdam Declaration to him outlining the terms of surrender for Japan. Bad as it may have been for the Japanese, a war that lasted any longer than what it did would have killed many more and obliterated the economies of all the world powers including Japan and the United States.

Being a culture of materialism and economic success, you would imagine that we would have enough prosperity to see that everyone has a fair share of housing, healthcare and money to fulfill their basic needs. However, as collection plates and fundraisers of our churches continue to ask more and more of us, it sometimes feels as if the need for charity will never cease. In fact, in Deuteronomy 15:11 we read that, â€Å"The needy will never be lacking in the land; that is why I command you to open your hand to your poor and needy kinsman in your country. † With this is in mind, we as Christians can remember that charity is a work of God, not an obligation put upon us by our own personal community. Later in the New Testament we read of Jesus saying, â€Å"The poor you will always have with you; but you will not always have me. † This statement again affirms the need for charity will always continue. And logically, as our population grows while our resources become more limited, this statement clearly makes sense. Yet, with all of the poverty we see, we also view just as much corporate greed and needless spending. If you’ve ever watched MTV Cribs, you wonder how one movie or sports star can justify sleeping at night in a bed that cost more than a half a years rent for some families. Granted, we might not always have the celebrities here on earth, but should we give them as much reverence as Jesus, and justify their increasing expenditures? The gap existing between the financial extremes seems to be forever growing rather than diminishing. Though the Bible admonishes that we should be giving of charity; in today’s culture this may mean taking a further step and turning away from our reverence for entertainment. Instead of buying a ticket to the football game for several hundred dollars, we may consider buying two months worth the food for the local food pantry to accomplish this goal. Since its launch in Pakistan, Mr. Burger has opened branches at Tariq Road, Boat Basin, Bahadurabad and North Nazimabad. Over the years, customers have come to appreciate the good service and delicious, quality foods offered by Mr. Burger. Situation Analysis. In the past few years, the overall value of Mr. Burger has declined. From our own observation of 2 branches (Tariq Road Boat Basin), we found that the overall state of the branches was below par. The tables and chairs were dirty. The chairs itself were quite uncomfortable. The wallpaper from the walls was scrapped from places. Even the entrance doormat and door had flies and mosquitoes all over them, making the place look unhygienic. Their appearance and way of interacting shows as if they are disinterested in working. Even the loyal customers do not prefer it to dine out, due to its poor performance. But once again, the rights of children in Pakistan suffered a major setback when in December 2004 a Lahore High Court judgment revoked the Juvenile Justice System Ordinance (JJSO), because it found it to be impractical, unreasonable and unconstitutional. Personal Philosophy Introduction Child development is divided into four areas of development; social / emotional, physical (motor), cognitive, and language. Typically children develop in a sequence of stages in each area. Although development normally follows the same series of stages, there are individual differences in what age each stage occurs. Development in part depends on the experiences a child encounters. According to Wardle (2004), young children learn from their total experience in a program. For example, children not only learn during teacher directed activities, they also learn while playing in interest areas, on the playground, while riding the bus, or during meals.
